Carved ivory Amida Nyorai Buddha
Japan - Late Edo period - pre 1867

This Amida buddha was carved in Japan around 200 years ago by a famous master carver by the name of Yoshiyuki.
It it extremely rare to find ivory Buddhas let alone finding one signed by one of Japans greatest ivory okimono and netsuke carvers.
This buddha is the most detailed and finely carved of 32 amida buddhas I know of.
The last carved ivory buddha of Amida sold for over $3000.00 in 2012.
This being the work of Yoshiyuki and being signed validates its age ,the artist and puts its value easily at $3000+
